STATE OF ILLINOIS,

MACON COUNTY, ss TOWN OF LONG CREEK, THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES met at the office of the Town Clerk at 6;30 P.M. on October 25, 2010 : PRESENT:

Kevin R. Greenfield, Supervisor

R. C. Smith, Clerk

Dale Rhoades, Trustee

Dale A. Workman, Trustee

Norman Hawbaker, Trustee

P. Kay Nuernberger, Trustee

Mr. Kevin Greenfield acting as Chairperson and R. C. Smith as Clerk. The following official business was transacted:

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 6:30 P.M. by Supervisor Greenfield.

Mr. Greenfield led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

ROLL CALL: Showed all present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

MOTION: Hawbaker 2nd ;Workman to Approve Minutes of September 27, 2010 Regular Minutes as presented. Motion Carried. Minutes Approved.

GUESTS PRESENT: Cheryl A. (O.C) Smith, Tim Kite, ;Dean; Rhoades, L. Mulvany, Linda Workman, Chief Mark Lawrence,Glenn Calhoun, Chief Deputy Sheriff Ed Culp: L. Mulvany Grandson, Evan, Ed Yoder.

REPORTS:

SUPERVISOR’S REPORT

  1. Poured foundation for sign currently being built.

Supervisor Greenfield explained the current condition of the Sign Project and when it is expected to be complete.Supervisor Greenfield expects sign to be complete and be in service in next two weeks, and no longer than one month.

  1. Purchase of Van for ;Water; Department:

Supervisor Greenfield and Water; Supt. ;Kite explained the need for this Van.

Supervisor ;Greenfield explained that this is needed to replace an old worn out truck in the

Water Department. Supervisor Greenfield explained that we received bids from Miles ;Chevy and Friendly Chevy and that Miles ;Chevy is the low bidder. However, they have two different Vans, ( one ½ ton and one ¾ ton).Supervisor Greenfield would like Tim and Wayne

Dotson who will be driving this Van to go to Miles and make the final selection, as to which one they want to purchase. Kevin would prefer the 6 cylinder.

Motion Workman, 2nd Rhoades to approve low bid from Miles Chevy and purchase the Van

That Tim and; Wayne select from Miles .

Motion Carried. Purchase approved unanimously.

  1. Preparing; Tax levies-plan to keep the same as last year.

Supervisor Greenfield explained the Tax levies and the desire to keep same as last year.

Kevin would like to reduce the levy, if and when the economy improves, hopefully in a couple years.

HIGHWAY COMMISSIONER REPORT: Commissioner Dean Rhoades . Highway Commissioner Dean Rhoades stated that His ;Dept is now working on Ditching and Brush Cutting.Also Installing Culverts. We are accepting Bids on a Mini Excavator and will open bids

On November 1st. Comments on huge new fence around Airport and specifically at 70th St and how it will impact snow on 70th ;St.

In the absence of Cemetery Trustee John Bruder, who had a conflict, the Report was

OTHER: Supervisor Greenfield recognized Ed Culp, Chief Deputy Sheriff and everyone gave Mr. Culp a big round of applause. Mr. Culp is retiring from Sheriff ;Dept., and has taken a

Position in ;Security with A.D.M..Everyone wished Mr. Culp; well in his new position. Mr. Culp; Thanked the Township Board and stated that he especially enjoyed coming to our Meetings, as he grew up in this Township.

WATER O & M: $ 101,274.04

Motion Workman, 2nd Nuernberger to Approve by Previous Roll Call Vote.

Motion Carried.

PAYROLL CLEARING FUND: $ 61,898.69

Motion Hawbaker, 2nd Rhoades to Approve by previous roll call vote.

MOTION CARRIED.

OLD BUSINESS: None

NEW BUSINESS: The Annual Halloween Safe House will be at the Long Creek Township ;Fire

Department from 5PM to 8;30PM on ;Sunday,October 31st and Chief Mark Lawrence said ALL

Are welcome to attend.

Supervisor Greenfield announced that the November Meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 30th. Motion Workman 2nd Hawbaker to approve paying Operating Bills for next Month.
