Regulations for the Honours Degree Programme in

Air Transport Management

These Programme Regulations apply to the conduct of the programme in the 2011-12 session and should be read in conjunction with University Regulation XX and the relevant Module Specifications. These ProgrammeRegulations may be subject to change from time to time. Notice of change will be given by the School responsible for the programme.

1.Structure

1.1Administrative responsibility for the programme rests with the School of Civil and Building Engineering.

1.2The programme leads to the Degree of Bachelor of Science.

1.3The duration of the programme is either 6 semesters, or 8 semesters if students either (i) undertake industrial training leading to the award of the Diploma in Industrial Studies or (ii) undertake a year abroad (Part I) both of which occur between Part B and Part C.

1.4Students may apply to the Programme Director for permission to undertake an approved course of study at a EuropeanUniversity which is a member of the EU approved SOCRATES programme. Such a course of study must be undertaken for one semester in Part B of the degree programme.

2.3Part I Year Abroad (8 semester programme only)

During the Year Abroad students will undertake coursework as required by the Department of Civil and Building Engineering.

3.Assessment

3.1Criteria for Progression and Degree Award

Candidates must achieve the minimum requirements set out in Regulation XX and meet the following programme requirements:

In order to progress from Parts A or B, or to qualify for the award of an Honours Degree in Part C, candidates must obtain 100 credits in each Part and at least 30% in other modules in each Part.

3.2Relative weighting of parts of the programme for the purposes of Final Degree Classification

Candidates' final degree classification will be determined on the basis of their performance in degree level Module Assessments in Parts B and C in accordance with Regulation XX. The average percentage marks for each Part will be combined in the ratio Part B: 25 : Part C: 75 to determine the Final Programme Mark.

3.3Re-assessment

Provision will be made in accordance with Regulation XX for candidates who have the right to re-assessment in Part A or B of the programme to undergo re-assessment in the University's special assessment period.
