Registration Of Interest In Delivering CDP Services

The Community Development Programme

The Community Development Programme (CDP) promotes the engagement and employment of jobs seekers in remote Australia.

The CDP focuses on:

  • increasing the number of people in remote Australia participating in activities that get them job-ready while helping make their communities better places to live
  • incentivising and supporting businesses to employ local job seekers
  • empowering local decision and local solutions.

CDP is delivered on behalf of the Government by private organisations (Providers)in 60 different regions across remote Australia (see below map). Over the next 12 months, there may be opportunities for new organisations to contribute to this programme as Providers. This Registration of Interest (ROI) process is designed to assist the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) to identify suitable providers able to fill gaps in vacated regions within short timeframes.

Who should register?

If your organisation can demonstrate a connection to remote communities and is equipped to conduct employment services in remote Australia, then you should register your interest in becoming aCDP provider.

Small, medium, large, for-profit, not-for-profit and Indigenous organisations are all encouraged to register their interest.

If your organisation is a current CDP provider with an interest in providingCDP services in additional regions please also register your interest.

Organisations that registered in the previous Registration of Interest process run by the Department in May 2015 need not reapply.

The Register of Interest Process

In responding to this ROI, organisations are asked to nominate the regions they would be able to provide CDP services in and whether they areinterested in providing short-term, stop-gap services (6-12months) or ongoing services (until 30 June 2018), or both.

Organisations will remain on the register of potentialproviders until 30June2016 and may be approached by PM&C at any time over this period tobecome the CDP provider.

When a regional vacancy is identified, PM&C may approach one or more organisations to fill the vacancy. PM&C may request additional documentation from the organisations in order to inform the Department’s decision, including documentation required to undergo a financial viability assessment.

Organisations invited to provide CDP services will be required to enter into aCDP Funding Agreement similar to the draft CDP Funding Agreement available on the Department’s website along with this ROI document.

Payment for short-term services may be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

There is no guarantee that registered organisations will be selected to beCDP providers.
