Flexible commitment required, likely to be 3-4 days per yearremotely with additional 1 day for training, 1 day for annual calibration and 1-2 days supporting panels

The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 51,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.

The RCGP is trialling a national process of GPwER accreditation (the terminology is GPwER has replaced (GPwSI) for GPs with extended scopes of practice in Dermatology and Skin Surgery. The organisation has been working with the British Association of Dermatologists and the Primary Care Dermatology Society to review and update the dermatology specialty-specific (GPwSI) framework and will shortly invite applications from GPs who would like to be accredited in this role through portfolio assessment. This is an exciting new development and we are seeking to appoint GPwER portfolio assessors tosupport the Clinical Lead forDermatology GPwER Accreditation by working with specialist colleagues toassess candidate portfolio submissions for the process of accreditation and provide input on relevant panels.

The successful candidate will be a current or GPwER/GPwSI in dermatology and/or skin surgery or active in the previous two years,have a sound knowledge of the 2011 revised guidance and competencies for the provision of services using GPwSI in Dermatology and Skin Surgery, and be in current practice in a primary care role.

The post holder will preferably be a Member or Fellow of the RCGP in good standing.
