1)  AIR TICKETS

The OIE will cover travel costs (economy class with most direct route) for OIE-funded participants and speakers. The OIE Regional Representation for the Middle East will purchase air tickets for all funded participants, except for the speakers, who will be taken care of directly by the OIE Administration, Logistics and Publication Department in Paris. All relevant details will be sent to the e-mail address provided by participants in their registration on-line.

2)  VISA REQUIREMENT

All participants are responsible to enquire on the visas and/or transit visas required and make the necessary arrangements to obtain them for the full round trip.

If not already done, each participant requiring entry visa to the United Arab Emirates, is requested to send a scanned copy of his/her valid passport (valid for at least for 6 months) at the latest by 1st of August 2014 to Ms Rita Rizk () and Mrs Ahlam Al Feel () for the assistance with obtaining entry visa to the United Arab Emirates.

3)  AIRPORT TRANSFERS

The Meydan Hotel in Dubai will organise transfer from and to Dubai International Airport. Once arrived at the airport, please go to an assembly point in the arrival hall and look for the meeting person with the sign of OIE Conference and Meydan Hotel.

4)  ACCOMMODATION: BOOKING AND PAYMENT

All participants will be staying at the Meydan Hotel, within the limit of rooms available.

For all OIE-funded participants, the organisers will book and directly cover the accommodation in the Meydan Hotel and meals for the two and half days of the conference. Participants will have to pay any extra charge incurred during their stay.

Self-funded participants are invited to contact the organizers (Ms Rita Rizk at with copy to ) to check if they can benefit from the accommodation in the Meydan Hotel as well. Many hotels are available in Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road, which is on a short distance from The Meydan, with different budget.

5)  CURRENCY

The monetary unit in UAE is the Emirates Dirham (ED). Other currencies need to be exchanged to ED. The present operational rate of exchange is: 1US$ = 3.67 ED.

6)  PER DIEM

The OIE will provide all OIE-funded participants with an ad hoc daily allowance (per diem) for the duration of the stay required for the meeting.

7)  INSURANCE

Insurance terms, when relevant, are specified in the respective invitation letter.

9)  LANGUAGE OF THE MEETING

The language of the meeting will be English with simultaneous translation into Arabic.

10)  TIME ZONE

The time zone in the United Arab Emirates is GMT +3.

11)  CLIMATE INFORMATION

In September/October the temperature in the United Arab Emirates usually ranges between a high 35º C and a low 24º C.
