  17. Material and equipment needed to complete work requirements described in this work item, unless specifically stated as Operator Furnished Equipment (OFE), Operator Furnished Material (OFM) and Operator Furnished Services (OFS), shall be supplied by the contractor.

  14. The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTRs including but not limited to GTRs 1-7, 22, 23, 28, and 29. GTRs can be obtained from the following URL:
  15. The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier are advised to review other work items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this work item. Many of the definitions relating to performance of this work item are found in Work Item 0001.
  16. The contractor shall comply with all requirements of equipment tag-out program as established by COMSCINST 3540.6, as amended, section 15.2.2, Engineering Operations and Maintenance Manual. The Chief Engineer is to administer the program. Prior to the start of work, the contractor shall contact the USMMIREP and / or the Chief Engineer to coordinate the implementation of the tag-out program for the entire performance period of this item. The prime contractor shall be responsible for compliance by both prime and subcontractor personnel.
  17. All work under this work item, must be completed within the first thirty days of the availability.
  18. All electrical terminations will be accomplished by NAVOCEANO representatives.
  19. All Multi-Cable Transit Systems (MCT) shall be opened and closed by trained and certified technician using original OEM materials. All MCT shall be inspected prior to and upon completion of work by the Port Engineer and Chief Engineer.

  22. STATEMENT OF WORK
  23. Arrangements/Outfitting:
  24. Provide all material and special equipment. Make all removals and restorations. Remove and replace all interferences, rig and unrig, stage and un-stage, make all dis-assemblies and subsequent re-assemblies, provide and operate equipment, and supply all services and assistance to accomplish the following work. (Material, unless specifically stated as OperatorFurnishedMaterial (OFM) shall be supplied by the contractor).
  25. NAVOCEANO representatives will disconnect all wiring inside existing junction –boxes, equipment racks, etc., prior to commence removals of cables or other equipment.
  26. Remove for scrap, two runs of LS1SMU-5 cables from Rack 03 in the Main lab to the two junction boxes, one on Port side, and one on Starboard side in the Propulsion Motor room.
  27. Remove for scrap, one run of LS1SMU-5 cable between Rack 03 in the Main Lab and the XBT Hand Launcher J-Box in the Wet Lab.
  28. Remove for scrap, one run of LS1SMU-5 cable between the XBT Hand Launcher J-box in the Wet Lab and the terminal Block inside the XBT Hand Launcher station outside the WET Lab Hanger Bay Large door.
  29. Remove for scrap three junction boxes, two in the Propulsion Motor room, and one in the Wet Lab.
  30. Temporarily remove two safety-line stanchions, one from the aft deck, port side and one from the aft deck starboard side. Mechanical clean, wire brush all rust and loose paint, prime and paint bot stanchions. Upon completion, re-install both stanchion to their original locations.
  31. Note: Contact Chief mate, prior to removal of stanchions, to discuss necessary safety measurements with loose safety lines.
  32. Fabricate and install two Stainless steel foundations with threaded studs to mount junction boxes, item 4.1.3 in the Propulsion motor room. Exact location of mounting plates to be determined by NAVO representative.
  33. As directed by NAVO representative, install one stainless steel grounding stud on each of the foundations.
  34. Install one each junction box, item 4.1.3, on each of the foundations, using SST hardware.
  35. Modify the XBT Hand Launcher Station outside the Et Lab Hanger door by removing the internal components.
  36. Fabricate and install one Stainless steel foundations with threaded studs to mount junction box, item 4.1.3, in the XBT Hand Launcher station outside the Wet lab Hanger door.
  37. Install one J-box, item 4.1.3, on the new Stainless steel foundation.
  38. Install one run of LS2SWU-3 cable, item 4.1.4, between the Port side J-Box in the Propulsion motor room and the Port Terminal box in Rack 03, located in the Main Lab. Leave ten feet of slack cable at each end.
  39. Install one run of LS2SWU-3 cable, item 4.1.4 between the Starboard side J-Box in the Propulsion motor room and the Starboard Terminal box in Rack 03, located in the Main Lab. Leave ten feet of slack cable at each end.
  40. Note: Route cables in paragraphs, 7.1.14 and 7.1.15, along the port and starboard side skin of the ship in the Propulsion Motor room, and the existing port side Data raceway below the ceiling tiles in the Main Lab. These data cables must be routed completely away from AC and pulsating DC power and controller cables in the Propulsion motor room.
  41. Install one run of LS2SWU-3 cable, item 4.1.4, between the XBT Hand launcher station j-box on the AFT deck outside the Wet Lab Hanger door and the Hand Launcher Terminal box in rack 03 in the Main Lab. Leave ten feet of slack cable at each end.
  42. Note: Route cables in paragraph, 7.1.16, from the XBT Hand Launcher Station into the Aft Center Passageway up into the overhead heading Main Lab. Port side Data raceway below ceiling tiles in the Main Lab. Data cable must be routed completely away from power and controller cables. Do not route cable through the Wet Lab.
  43. Install the Starboard and Port stanchion posts on the refurbished safety-line stanchions, so that they point directly aft in one position, and inboard in the other position.
  44. Install the Starboard and Port XBT Launchers with pigtail cable assemblies to the stanchion posts.
  45. Install four, SST –Kick pipes, item 4.1.6, on the existing 2” deck penetrations., two on the Port side, and two on the Starboard side.
  46. Install the Launcher pigtail cable assemblies and ground cables, item 4.1.7 through their respective kick pipes, leaving enough slack for movement to the two different locking positions.
  47. Seal all cable kick pipes, using ROXTEC RS-50, item 4.1.5
  48. Secure all new and disturbed cables to existing cableways or trays.
  49. Provide assistance as required during testing of the system by NAVO representatives.
  50. Install name plates, notices, cable tags, and markings for all new and modified systems as directed by NAVO representative.
  51. Prime and paint all new and disturbed surfaces to match surrounding areas.
