Role Summary

Working Futures is a new initiative supporting unemployed young people (16-29) across Merseyside. We are looking for a self-motivated Recruitment & Partnership Officer who has the ability to develop good relationships with external organisations and young people who are currently facing a wide range of challenges in their lives and are in need of further support and clear direction. A previous track record of engaging with young people who are deemed NEET would be advantageous. You must be output focussed and confident in delivering presentations to individuals or groups of people.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Responsibilities
An inspirational and dynamic individual, who thrives on networking with external organisations, is driven, enjoys working with young people, and has a real passion to make a difference in their lives. In this role you will be responsible for developing and delivering the recruitment process, this includes all set start targets that are attributable to programmes for young people. You will also be responsible for building up a database and recording all of the referrals and starts on a weekly/monthly basis. Targets will be measured on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Duties and responsibilities:
  • Actively promote and sell the Working Futures programme to appropriate and eligible 16-29 year olds.
  • Create and maintain daily, weekly and monthly records of: outreach activity, information sessions, programme starts and current occupancy reports.
  • Identify and organise primary referral agencies, within the Merseyside and the surrounding areas
  • Develop relationships with Job Centre Plus, Connexions and other referral partners.
  • Offer initial advice, information and guidance to learners on the most suitable programme route available to support the learner’s into a positive progression.
  • Arrange and complete all registration documentation, initial assessments and process eligibility evidence in accordance with programme requirements.
  • Conduct 1-2-1 assessments with each learner to assess current status and development of an Individual Action Plan.
  • Research, plan and facilitate all up and coming events, create an events diary to ensure effective use of time.
  • Maintain and sustain contact with referral agencies and provide learner feedbackon a regular basis.
  • Administrating and completing paperwork associated with programme within required timescales.
  • Completing any other duties as reasonably requested by Line Manager.

  • Understand the Club Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines. Use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Skills & Abilities
Essential / Desirable
  • Minimum of 2 years working with young people, at the appropriate organisations.
  • Must be output focussed, and able to show a flexible working approach.
  • Experience of dealing with challenging young people with a wide variety of barriers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must be able to work competently with the minimum of supervision.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to work towards and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate and motivate self and others in challenging surroundings.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Must be flexible, and able to adapt to programmes enrolment changes as they arise.
  • High standard of customer care.
  • Good organisational and administration skills.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential / Desirable
  • Knowledge of NEET’s challenges and issues.
  • Experience of recruitment and engagement within a training environment
  • Experience in coaching and influencing.

Qualifications
Essential / Desirable

  • GCSE Grade A or B in English
  • Full clean driving licence with access to a car would be beneficial.

  • NVQ level 3 Advice & Guidance
  • IT qualification desirable, or good knowledge of Microsoft packages
