A - PREAMBLE
Recreation Centres are an integral part of community life and all members of the community are encouraged to maximise the involvement of their community through the advertising of events and the sale of goods through the Centres. The Recreation Centres cater for all people in Salisburyand care must be taken to ensure that advertisements do not, in any way, cause offence or break the law.
B - SCOPE
This policy applies to all employees, volunteers and users of the Recreation Centres.
C –POLICY PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES
This policy sets out the general principles for the approval and display of advertising within the City of Salisbury Recreation Centres.
D - DEFINITIONS
1.Recreation Centres – Ingle Farm Recreation Centre, St Jays, Gardens Recreation Centre and Salisbury Recreation Precinct. Including community halls and venues under supervision of the Recreation Services division.
2.Advertising – promotional material that seeks to sell or promote goods and/or services. This material may be from individuals, from groups with commercial or other promotional interests, and may be either professionally produced or be ‘home made’ in nature.
3.Advertiser – Individual, group or party seeking to advertise within Recreation Services venues
E -POLICY STATEMENT
1.Approval to display any advertising material is at the discretion of the Recreation Services division.
2.All costs associated with design, production and maintenance of approved advertising will be at the advertisers cost.
3.No advertising will be displayed that could be considered offensive or contrary to the values of the City of Salisbury.
4.The City of Salisbury does not allow the advertising of tobacco and alcohol products within the grounds of any Council managed recreation centre.
5.Management of the Recreation Centres will remove any advertising that it considers to be in breach of this policy immediately it is observed.
