Recommended Approach to Completing the CRC
2014 Campaign Budget Template
Your task is to plan your estimated Budget Income and Expenses, and to spread them over your campaign period. Then either enter the results in the CRC Excel worksheet or manually on the .pdf version. The CRC Excel worksheet has embedded equations that do the summary math for you. You have to do the summary math manually on the .pdf version. Please use the following list to guide you:
1. Fill in the estimated funds you expect to receive for your campaign and their source. If you have funds from a source not listed, place them in the one closest to your expected source. If it is a significant amount, describe same on an attached sheet.
2. Go down the list of Fundraising Expenses that are listed. In the first column, list the total amount you expect to spend on each category of expenses.
3. The worksheet will total your estimated Total Income and Total Expenditure and will show a Surplus or Deficit.
4. Once the Total Budget numbers have been estimated and filled in, show when during your campaign you expect to receive and expend your funds.
This can be done in the Monthly Columns from Jan to Nov.
5. Once again, the worksheet will total your entries in the Right Hand column and bottom row. The Surplus and Deficit column is there to aid you in spreading your campaign funds and staying close to your planned budget.
6. Income and expenses do not have to always balance and show a Zero Surplus or Deficit. However, the closer they are reflects better campaign financial planning.
7. This planning worksheet will give the CRC Committee a measure of how well you have thought out your overall financial campaign plan. The Committee understands that this is a plan/schedule and that once into the heat of a campaign, things can change. But this plan provides a Baseline for you to measure your actual income and expenses against.
