Graph Linear Inequalities
Do Now
Rearrange 4x – y = 3 into slope-intercept form.
Graph it.
Is the point (2, -3) a solution?
Inequality
Much like graphing on a number line, we can graph a linear inequality on a coordinate axis by using the same procedure.
1. Graph the boundary
2. Dot (≠) or leave the line solid (=)
3. Shade (use a testing point)

Is (2, 5) a solution? / Graph y 4x – 3
Is (2, -3) a solution?

7. / Marti sells tacos and burritos from a food truck at the farmer’s market. He sells burritos for $3.50 each, and tacos for $2.00 each. He hopes to earn at least $120 at the farmer’s market this Saturday. Create & graph a linear inequality that represent the solution to this problem. Let b equal the number of burritos that Marti sells and t equal the number of tacos that Marti sells.

Algebra I CC HW #23
Lesson SummaryAn ordered pair is a solution to a two variable inequality if, when each number is substituted into its corresponding variable, it makes the inequality a true number sentence.
The graph of a linear inequality in the coordinate plane is called a half-plane.
Directions: Graph the solution set in the coordinate plane.
