Writing – Voice
·  Writers use formal language, or formal voice, when their audience is a person of authority and respect, such as a teacher. Writers use informal voice when their audience is someone they know well. Informal voice may include contractions, slang, and everyday vocabulary.
Grammar – Action Verbs
·  A verb shows what the subject does or is. An action verb expresses action.
