RE: UNITED WAY OF LEBANON COUNTY RAISES NEARLY $400,000 BY EARLY OCTOBER FOR 2014 CAMPAIGN
Lebanon, PA - Lebanon, PA - On Thursday, October 9th, the United Way of Lebanon County held its 1st Campaign Update Breakfast Meeting at The Mansion at 5th. One month into the annual drive, campaign chair, Dan Ehrgood, announced to a room full of United Way supporters that $399,700 has been raised to date. This represents a 9% increase over the amount reported in October of last year. Dan credited the work of the campaign cabinet volunteers with increasing the visibility and effectiveness of the annual campaign.
Other highlights from the breakfast included a guest appearance from recent transplant to the Lebanon area, Rich Cope, Plant Manager at Valspar, who spoke about his company’s new and improved United Way campaign, which included a first-time presentation to Valspar employees by United Way staff. A handful of local businesses reported their workplace campaign totals, including the Cornwall Lebanon School District, First National Bank of Fredericksburg and Brentwood Industries, Inc.
Guests at the breakfast were treated to the United Way’s 2014 campaign video, which was filmed and edited entirely by four local high school seniors from Cedar Crest High School – Unagh Frank, Janessa Cruz, Nick Weiss and Trinh Ngyuen. The video featured two success stories of local people who received life-changing services from local human service agencies - Developmental & Disabilities Services of Lebanon Valley and the Halcyon Activity Center - who both receive annual funding from the United Way of Lebanon County.
To spark some intrigue among guests, two of the United Way’s Grand Prize Incentives – a 2015 Honda Fit LX from Ebersole Honda and a 2015 Harley Davidson Sportster from White’s Harley Davidson-Buell – were parked outside the entrance to the event. Ebersole Honda joined forces with Keller Brothers Ford, Ciocca Hyundai, Klick Lewis and Ladd Hanford Auto Group for a first-time partnership to sponsor the car.
United Way thanks The Mansion at 5th for hosting the event free of charge and First National Bank of Fredericksburg for sponsoring the breakfast catered by QUEST Inc.
