RE: Proposal for Painter’s Lodge & Resort

September/October 2008

50Guests

DearRichard,

Thank you for considering Painter's Lodge as the location for your upcoming event. Nestled on the pristine shores of Vancouver Island, Painter’s Lodge offers world-class BC salmon fishing, breathtaking scenery and all the amenities you’d expect from a traditional resort; except Painter’s Lodge is far from your everyday resort! Located in beautiful Campbell River, “The Salmon Fishing Capital of the World,” this famous British Columbia salmon fishing lodge is the perfect place to relax, re-charge and reel in the big one. But Painter’s Lodge is about so much more than spectacular fishing – it’s about outdoor adventure, first class service, and team building. It’s a great escape for your meetings, conferences and corporate getaways. The main lodge and five outbuildings create a charming village-like setting made up of 90 guestrooms and 4 private cabins with the function rooms facing waterfront. A significant advantage of selecting Painter's Lodge is having access to our sister resort on QuadraIsland, AprilPoint Resort and Spa. Our two resorts are connected by a complimentary ten-minute cruise across the Discovery Passage; your delegates will have access to two legendary British Columbia Lodges!

We are pleased to offer the Puget Sound Anglers the following specially discountedfour day, three night fly-in fishing package rates:

Please note that availability is subject to dates selected.

Catering & Facilities

Meal Arrangements:

We would be pleased to organize any food and beverage functions for your group once we have had the opportunity to further discuss your needs in detail. For budgeting purposes, we recommend estimating $90.00 in Canadian funds, per person, based on three meals a day. This is exclusive of liquor and does not include applicable taxes. Actual costs may vary depending on menu selections.

The Painter’s Lodge Guest Services Manager will contact you approximately six weeks prior to your arrival to discuss your meal arrangements, meeting and audiovisual requirements.

Conference Facilities:

Our function rooms at Painter’s Lodge are oceanfront and tastefully decorated. We are pleased to offer the Puget Sound Anglers complimentary use of our conference/banquet space with the confirmation of twenty guests and the utilization of our catering services!

Dining Rooms:

While Painter’s Lodge is legendary for BC salmon fishing, Legends Dining Room and the Tyee Pub have become favourite Vancouver Island restaurants on their own. Legends Dining Room is the main attraction at Painter’s Lodge, featuring gourmet West Coast and Continental cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Delicious daily specials bring fresh local produce and seafood together into a mouth-watering feast, best enjoyed with fine local wine and sinfully good desserts. For a more casual meal, the Tyee Pub serves hearty comfort foods in a casual setting. Enjoy a frosty Vancouver Island beer and views of Discovery Passage while you talk over the day’s events.

Just a short water taxi ride away is April Point Resort and two other dining options. The April Point Dining Room features the best of Quadra and Vancouver Island, while the April Point Sushi Bar serves up striking and delicious creations right before your eyes.

Activities

Salt Water Fishing:

Explore the rich tradition of BC salmon fishing in renowned Campbell River, “The Salmon Capital of the World.” Painter’s Lodge and AprilPoint fishing resorts look out over Discovery Passage, where wave after wave of salmon migrate south from Alaska. Set off from the resort in a 17-foot Boston Whaler and fish the waters of Discovery Passage with a veteran guide who shares your passion and excitement for fishing. Our guides are BC salmon fishing experts with a vast knowledge of the region and a deep respect for the sport. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced angler, your guide can set the hooks, offer new tips and techniques, and help you reel in the catch you’ve been waiting for.

We provide all the equipment you’ll need to enjoy your time out on the water. Back at the dock, your guide will weigh, clean and package your catch so it’s ready for you to take home. Your package includes three 4-hour fishing trips; the rate for additional fishing is$269.00 per boat (two anglers), per four-hour fishing tideplus 5% GST. Our fishing trips take place two or three times a daydepending on the time of year. Two trips may be combined to an 8-hour trip for those who wish to fish further out. Boxed lunches can be ordered and taken on your fishing trip.

If your dates fall within October 1-13, 2008, your group members will be eligible for our annual Chum Derby Contest. The contest is open to all Painter's Lodge guests who fish with us and the guest with the overall largest Chum Salmon will win the grand prize! Prizes have not been announced at this time, but last year Oak Bay Marine Group gave away a trip to the Bahamas!
