Re: Professional Development Opportunity

Please accept this letter of request for approval to attend the Project Management Institute Southern Alberta Chapter (PMI-SAC) 2016 Professional Development Conference (PDC). This annual two-day professional development forum will take place November 22-23, 2016 at WinSport at Canada Olympic Park.

I have reviewed the conference program and educational opportunities and feel the return on the investment would be of major benefit to our organization, as the event aligns directly with the priorities of our team, including[insert your priorities here].

I have also attached my selection of sessions which will further my professional development [please see end of letter for session selection]

Throughout the two days of this event, I will have access to:

  • Over 14 hours of educational sessions that I can choose to participate in, selecting from over 30 professionally-facilitated sessions, earning up to 12 Professional Development Units (PDUs);
  • Direct interaction and engagement with program speakers and session facilitators who are considered leaders in Canadian and international business and project management fields;
  • Access to customized programming that is specific to my career and development objectives as a[insert role/job title – e.g.: Project Manager, Program Manager, Business Unit Manager, etc.]
  • Interaction and networking with other leading project professionals from across southern Alberta, representing nearly every key industry in the province.
  • Networking with an estimated 300 peers with whom to share best practices, ideas and shared learning

I am seeking approval for the registration fee and travel expenditures to attend this great learning opportunity.

  • PMI-SAC Member Registration: $999 (Earlybird), $1099 (After August 1st) – includes two full days of conference programming, meals, attendance at all conference events, delegate bag, and access to speaker presentations and conference materials after the event.
  • Non-Member Registration: $1099 (Earlybird), $1199 (After August 1st) – includes two full days of conference programming, meals, attendance at all conference events, delegate bag, and access to speaker presentations and conference materials after the event.
  • Student Half Day 1-Day Pass: $250 – available only to students registered at a recognized post-secondary institution. Proof of registration will be required.
