Re: Letter of Intent for Common Council, District A, Norwalk CT

Dear Chairman Watts:

I, Jalin Sead, am seeking to run for the City of Norwalk Common Council. I am a young man driven to make a difference in this city for the good of the people. I was born and raised in Norwalk, and I love this city. As a life long citizen of Norwalk, I feel that I can bring passion, knowledge, experience, and a listening ear to the Council. The job of the Common Council is to listen to their constituents and stand up for them. I am excited about the possibility, and would be honored to stand up for District A.

I founded JCA Outreach a mentoring program in 2008, in which I wanted to mentor peers to help them understand that it’s never to late to get on the right track. I was able to recruit and train mentors, who were able to help young men and women reach their full potential. Through the mentoring, I realized that there was a lot more work to do. People need jobs, education, health care, and other resources. I began to work with parents and others to help them obtain their needs. I believe that in this position of Common Councilman, I will be able to make sure the city is doing everything to make sure it’s citizens are getting their most basic needs.

I have been watching and listening to the beat of Norwalk for as long as I can remember. Throughout my lifetime this city has transformed, however the diversity of the people has stayed the same. I am looking forward to working with my constituents, and hearing what they want, and what they need from the city’s officials, and bringing that to the Council Chambers. People want to be heard, and I plan to be the voice of the people, to make sure that we can keep people in Norwalk.

In closing, there is work to do, to help the City of Norwalk reach its fullest potential, and it starts with the community. I plan on picking up where Chairman Watts left off. I know I have big shoes to fill, and I am up for the challenge. I can guarantee you that I am committed to this City, and I want to serve the people of this great city. I will be honored to run for Common Council, and I would appreciate the support of the District A communities, and the DTC voting members. If you have any questions feel free to contact me by email , or by phone (203) 820-6958. Thank you for your time, and consideration.

Sincerely,

Jalin Sead
