Dear S Cox

Re: Freedom of Information Request – SAR information

With reference to your request for information regarding above, I confirm that we are able to provide the following information which I trust you will find acceptable.

I have closed your request now.

Request and Response
1. How many Subject Access request you receive in your trust in an average month.
Ans. We are unable to determine an average as requests are received into each individual service. By applying the totals received by the Trust in question 2. and dividing by 12 months you would be able to determine a figure but this does not give a true reflection of requests received in any given month and is not information that is gathered by Data Protection central log system.
2. How many SARs you have received in your trust annually for the last 3 years?
Ans.
July 2011 - March 2012 = Total requests logged 158
April 2012 - March 2013 = Total requests logged 200
April 2013 - 05th March 2014 = Total requests logged 233
3. How many people you have dealing with the amount of SARs you receive and (without giving any financial details, naturally) an estimation of what Pay band those staff dealing with requests would be on?
Ans. The Trust does not have a dedicated job role for dealing with Subject Access Requests. The Trust Data Protection Policy, copy available on Trust Website (link provided below), states that Managers must nominate a staff member to co-ordinate SARs. There are currently approximately 39 staff across services and departments who have been nominated to co-ordinate SARs and it is estimated that majority of these are admin staff on Band 4 or 5. Other members of staff e.g. clinicians and Managers, will also be involved in preparing the response to SARs. Each SAR is assessed and dealt with on a case by case basis.
