Re: Freedom of Information request number 3778

Thank you for your request for information. The details below have been supplied in response to your request. I hope the information supplied satisfies your original request.

Question;

The separate annual spend on each of these public health areas:

Sexual Health,

Drug misuse - adults,

Alcohol misuse,

Smoking,

Obesity,

Physical activity.

I am requesting the spend for each of the public health concerns in the spending year 2012/13, and also for the coming year 2013/14.

Where the spend is spread across multiple brackets through schemes or initiatives which will, for example, focus on obesity and physical activity, please apportion the correct amount of funding that has gone to each sector's outcomes. Where this is not possible, please spread the cost evenly over each appropriate category.

Response;

Annual spend on each public health areas is broken down below, the majority of these service are commissioned as block contracts which means that they recieve monies equally over 12 months. The only variance is the primary care Local Enhanced Services (LES) which are paid cost per case, but calculated on actual payments made in the previous years,

Sexual Health, £1,787,000.00 (split over NELFT £1,595,000.00, Other BTUH £42,000.00, SHUFT £26,000.00, & Other primary Care Local Enhanced Services (LES) £124,000.00)

Drug misuse and Alcohol misuse, combined, £1,321,000.00 (split over DAT Funding £893,000.00, Synergy Detox & (LES) £70,000.00 and SEPT Block £358,000.00)

Smoking, £525,000.00 (split over Tobacco NELFT £411,000 & Tobacco (LES) £114,000)

Obesity combined with Physical activity £804,000.00 (split over Adult & Child Weight Mgt £375,000.00, Health Checks NELFT £247,000.00 and Health Checks (LES) £182,000.00)

These figures apply for both years, 2012/13 and 2013/14.
