Re: Consultation on the Growing Success Initiatives for Parents/Guardians/Caregivers and School Councils

In June 2010, the Ministry of Education released a new document, Growing Success which has provided new directions in assessing student work and reporting it to students and their parents. The requirements of the new document include a review of assessment and evaluation practices, changes to report cards and procedures to support these directions.

As a result of this policy, we have developed draft procedures for consultation of the following:

This is not a new direction for the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). Previously, a description of the practices for responding to incidents of plagiarism and cheating has been contained in the TDSB Fresh Assessment and Evaluation Resource document. The basic principles of these previous practices have been reviewed and upgraded to include the new language of Growing Success.

Late and Missed Assignments

This is not a new direction for the TDSB.
