Job Description
Job Title: / Financial ControllerResponsible to: / Chief Executive
Hours of work: / 5 days a week
Holidays: / 30 days per year including bank holidays.
Probationary period: / 6months

Salary: / £45,000
Main Purpose of the role:
To oversee the day to day activities of the finance team and ensure that the Charity’s finance function is organised and efficient and produces accurate financial and management accounts.
Key Tasks
- Review monthly Trial Balance, identify journals, pre-payments and accruals.
- Prepare forecasts and cash flows as required by the Board
- Manage the maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting process
- Prepare monthly consolidated P&L and balance sheet
- Produce statutory and internal financial reports and liaise with Charity’s auditors and preparation of information for the annual audit
- Financial modelling andanalysis
- Ensure appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
- Oversee payroll process to Bureau and ensure accurate agreed payroll is transacted
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Assess updated monthly Management Accounts values, ensuring reconcile with prior months
- Post updated monthly Management accounts to internal management accounts company templates
- Interrogate monthly management accounts data for both companies (charity and commercial)
- Consolidate Management accounts data into consolidation templates and produce Board required accounts
- Report/explain Management accounts data both to SeniorManagement and Board
- Undertake full annual Budget process to Board timetable.
- Attend Senior Management and Board meetings as required, support effort where necessary
- Manage Strategic Senior Management group and support effort where necessary
- Manage procurement function concentrating on higher value contracts
- Act as conduit on all company financial data/information requested internally or externally
- Provide financial input toward both companies ad hoc developments
- Provide commercial supporting management to the services operation as necessary
- Support to IT management as necessary
- Undertake Balance Sheet reviews per Quarter – Sage to supporting data
- Engage effectively with site management to ensure professional integration with others, to the benefit of the department.
- Follow current policies and good efficient practices, in order that Raystede effectively meets it’s charitable and financial objectives.
- Support the wider aims of the charity and from time-to-time carry out other general duties as may reasonably be required by the Chief Executive.

- Manage the finance function and oversee the finance team

- Administrative skills including IT (Microsoft Office).
- Experience of Sage 50
- Experience in a welfare environment.
