Psychologist for the intensive treatment unit of TPH.

Duties: Conduct individual and group therapy and a legal issues group. Provide psychological testing, including competency evaluations, risk assessments, and referral based assessments

Assessment supervisor for the pre-doctoral intern program.

Duties: provide 1 and a half hours of direct weekly supervision. Oversee interns administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychological assessments. Assist and edit in report

writing.

The TPRC is a panel of Doctoral level clinicians who evaluate the treatment progress of residents civilly committed under the NJ Sexually Violent Predator Act.

Duties: Assess treatment progress of civilly committed residents at the STU and write corresponding treatment progress reports on an annual basis. Testify as an expert witness on evaluation findings. Evaluate residents who are temporarily committed to the STU for whether they meet the statutory criteria for civil commitment as a Sexually Violent Predator. Provide court testimony on findings.

Duties: Perform psychological evaluations for candidates applying for positions as a Port Authority Police Officer. Render opinions on a candidate’s psychological fitness for employment.

Duties: Provide group therapy to residents civilly committed under the NJ Sexually Violent Predator Act. Write treatment plans for each resident and perform ongoing assessment of treatment progress. Provide individual therapy to residents on a periodic basis. Coordinated the Modified Activity Program (MAP) for residents placed on restricted activities for untoward behavior.

Supervisor: Merrill Main, Ph.D.

Duties: Coordinated neuroleptic research protocols for medications used in the treatment of schizophrenia. Responsibilities included performing psychiatric and movement assessment batteries on patients, supportive counseling, and coordinating a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure compliance with the research protocol. Other responsibilities included patient recruitment and completion of critical document records.

Duties: Interviewed and hired group leaders, oriented and trained new staff, and created children’s group composition for social skills remediation. Served as a group leader of social skills groups for children with Pervasive Developmental Disorders. Scored and administered Social Skills Rating Forms, provided feedback to parents regarding their child’s progress. Administered psychological test batteries and wrote assessment reports for children referrals.
