“Raymond’s Run”/”Clean Sweep” One-Pager

Characterization Analysis Paragraph

In the short story, “Raymond’s Run” by Toni Cade Bambara, Squeaky demonstrates her protective nature towards her brother, Raymond. To begin with, as Squeaky is walking down the street with Raymond, she states, “I’ve got Raymond walking on the inside close to the buildings” (Bambara 40). She keeps him on the inside of the sidewalk because she knows he has a tendency to dash out into the street. She thinks about his safety at all times. Additionally, when her peers try to antagonize Raymond, she fights back saying, “You got anything to say to my brother, you say it to me” (Bambara 43). Explain… Add a concluding sentence.

Transition, Lead statement that includes the context of the quote you are introducing, the Quote.

Add commentary (YOUR comments/thoughts/explanation) that explains how the quote supports the character trait that you included in first sentence.

If you have another quote, add it using TLQ and follow it with a couple of commentary sentences.

Theme is the lesson learned or the message that you can take away from the selection.

You can move the text box around on the page and even twist it to interesting angles by grabbing the small green circle at the top of the box and rotating it left or right. You can add a background color, etc.
