Job Description
Title: Service Delivery Manager for Sexual Violence
Counselling Service
Responsible to: RSACC Chief Executive Officer/ Trustees
Grade: NJC PO2 (point 35) £30,785
NJC PO3 (point 38) £33,437
Hours of work: 37.5 Hours per week (flexibility required)
Annual Leave: 25 days a year (pro rata)
Salary: £32,486 to £33,437
Contract: Minimum of 1 year subject to funding

Overview of Role:
· Managing a counselling service including safeguarding issues, ethical dilemmas and professional standards with the support of the CEO
· Managing a staff team and volunteers within the service; dealing with day to day issues as they arise; including human resources requirements, appraisals and developing the skills and responsibilities of volunteers
· Managing other service provision as required with the support of the CEO; e.g. group programmes, helpline.
· Liaising with CEO to identify projects/service developments and initiatives to enhance service provision
· Deputising for the CEO as required
· Managing Health and Safety within the work environment
· Building and maintaining effective networks with multi-agency partners/stakeholders/supporters.
· Promoting the role of the organisation when deputising for the CEO in external and internal meetings (as required by the CEO)
· Managing and motivating the staff and volunteer team to achieve the mission and vision of the organisation during a period of change
· Overseeing the organisation’s internal and external monitoring and evaluation processes
Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
Service Delivery/Management
· Management of paid staff and volunteers; including human resource functions (contracts, disciplinary, illness, holidays etc), appraisals, development of staff and volunteer skills to enhance service delivery and managing staff and volunteer welfare.
· Managing service delivery with the support of the CEO; advising and supporting counsellors/staff, overseeing safeguarding issues and responsibilities, troubleshooting, managing service capacity and reviewing service delivery and telephone helpline resources
· Managing ethical and professional standards with the support of the CEO; meeting clinical supervision requirements, ensuring counselling adheres to the BACP ethical framework and note-keeping follows legal and professional standards.
· Reviewing and updating service delivery strategy as agreed by the Trustees and the CEO
· Building relationships and liaising with key partners and stakeholders
· Contributing to the ongoing development of all internal policies and procedures, reviewing and developing policies as appropriate to comply with the Rape Crisis England and Wales National Service Standards
· Managing the online health and safety system and taking any relevant actions in order to comply with health and safety standards within the workplace
· Overseeing and participating in internal and external training including involvement in delivery, design, evaluation as well as networking to develop training opportunities with external organisations
Additional Key Responsibilities/ skills required
· Deputising for CEO where appropriate and carrying out other tasks relevant to service delivery of the organisation as agreed by the CEO/ Trustees
· Overseeing RSACC internal and external monitoring and evaluation systems
· Understanding of human resources processes, including recruitment /induction; discipline/grievance; appraisal/ professional development; training of volunteers; staff and health and safety (duty of care) and ability to manage such issues on a day to day basis
· Act as a role model to staff and volunteers (fair, inspirational, facilitative approach to problem solving, excellent written/ verbal communicator and able to prioritise a demanding workload)
· Understanding of strategic planning, governance and risk management
· Building and maintaining effective networks to expand and promote the role of the organisation
· Understanding of need for appropriate quality standards and ability to develop, implement and review policies in line with these standards
· Understanding of an ethical approach/ high levels of professional and personal integrity
· Understanding of and sensitivity to the issues relating to rape, sexual abuse and domestic violence including their impact on women
· Ability to understand and ensure adherence to stringent Health and Safety standards and requirements
· Any other duties deemed appropriate to the service delivery needs of the business by the CEO/Trustees
