Raise commitment

The present commitment is stipulated between ISIS - Istituto di Studi per l’Integrazione dei Sistemi, established in via Flaminia 21, Roma, 00196, Italy, represented by Carlo Sessa, President, the coordinator of the RAISE Citizens Conference Process, hereby referred as the Organiser, and Mrs/Mrs…………………………………… hereby referred as the Participant.

1.SCOPE

The European Commission has decided to recruit 25 citizens to be part of the RAISE Citizens Conference process. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

2. PARTICIPATION

The Participant commit him/herself to participate to three Citizens Workshops plus one final Conference[1], in accordance to the following calendar and the modalities that will be communicated by the Organiser in due time. The participant shall actively contribute to the work before, during and after each Workshop as it will be required by the Organiser:

First Citizen Panel Workshop

Developing a vision of 'Urban sustainable development'

9-10 September 2005, Vienna, Austria

Second Citizen Panel Workshop

Evaluation of current EU-research on urban sustainable development

30 September - 1 October 2005, Rome, Italy

Third Citizen Panel Workshop

Drawing up a 'Citizens Declaration on the European City of Tomorrow'.

21-22 October 2005, Brussels, Belgium

Final Citizen Panel Workshop

Presentation of the Declaration to EU policy makers.

Between 14-18 November 2005 (dates and place to be confirmed)

The participants have the obligations to arrive on time at all the meetings. No exception will be accepted. In case of late arrival no attest of participation, needed for the fee of 700 euro, will be delivered. Only a situation of force majeure would be an acceptable excuse.

3.COMPENSATION

In the occasion of the three Workshops and the Final Conference, the Participant will be rewarded with 120 euro per diem for local travel and subsistence costs. Transport from the country of origin to the meeting places will be arranged by the Organiser. If the Participant’s presence to the 3 Workshops and the Final Conference is attested, he/she will be rewarded with a fee of 700 euro at the end of the whole process.

4.MEDIATISATION

The Participant accepts video, television, radio, photo and journalist reports during the Workshops and the Conference. He/she renounces to any legal action against the Organiser, in matters concerning the use of images and reporting made during these occasions.

5.CONFIDENTIALITY

The Participant commits him/herself to respect the confidentiality of the work undertaken during the Workshops and the information provided, in particular if they concern personal aspects of the other participants.

In case the Participant decides to mention his participation in any official document before the end of the process, he shall ask the Organiser beforehand. In case the Organiser provides the authorisation, the Participant will be able to mention his participation in any presentation, CV,….

6.PRIVACY LAW AND LIBERTIES

The Organiser will keep files containing personal data of the participants, in order to organise the travels and accommodations. The Organiser commits himself not to transfer the files and guarantees no use by third parties.

The processing of personal data will be governed by the Belgian law of 8 December 1992 concerning the protection of privacy during the processing of personal data. The Participant has the right to receive information on his/her file on request and he/she can ask for corrections of their data if need be.
