RAF STROKEPLAY GOLF CHAMPS 2015

All players and officials at the RAF Strokeplay Champs being hosted at Ganton Golf Club are to note the following:

Ganton Golf Club has a strict dress policy as follows:

Dress Code:The general principle is that visitors shall conform to the best of golf standards both on and off the course.

On the course golf shoes are to be worn; tailored shorts may be worn but only with single colour knee length socks and shirts are to be tucked in.
Smart casual wear is allowed in all rooms with the exception of the Vardon Room where Jacket and ties must be worn at all times and in the Dining Room after10.30am. Shoes worn on the course are not to be worn in the Clubhouse. Waterproof clothing is not suitable in the Clubhouse apart from in the changing areas. Hats are not to be worn in the Clubhouse.

Jeans, tracksuits, T-shirts, combat/cargo shorts and training shoes/sneakers are not appropriate either on the course or in the clubhouse.

The policy cannot be clearer. I do not want to see anything other than the dress stipulated above. Some of the footwear in the clubhouse at Torksey was not appropriate for Torksey and therefore is not appropriate for Ganton. Nothing other than proper shoes may be worn in the clubhouse. There is no spike bar. As far as long socks with tailored shorts are concerned, please note they must be pulled up at all times and not just on the 1st and 18th.

As far as etiquette goes, we also expect the highest of standards; treat the golf course and your playing partners with the utmost respect. Bad language should be kept to an absolute minimum on the course and eradicated whist inside the clubhouse.

There is no requirement for jacket and tie as the meal on day 3 is sandwiches and chips and this may be taken in the casual areas of the clubhouse.

Mobile phones may be taken onto the course on silent and used as a distance measuring device only. They may also be used to make a phone call on the course or in the clubhouse in emergency only. Mobile phones may be used on silent in the clubhouse utilising the free WIFI. WIFI Code will be issued at registration.

Individuals who would like to play a practice round on Sunday should contact the Pro Shop to book a tee time - Tel:

Should anyone want to walk the course on the Sunday night they are allowed to do so as long as the following rules are adhered to:

1. The Ganton dress code will be adhered to.

2. No golf clubs should be taken around the course.

3. Individuals are to remain clear of all players whilst walking the course.

Simply stated you are expected to behave impeccably during your time at Ganton Golf Club.

These rules are in no way intended to curtail your enjoyment of what is a magnificent golf course, simply to enhance your experience.
