CHESHIRE, Connecticut

Mr. Wonder Boy is coming to Cheshire for a three-week engagement at ElimPark’s newly upgraded Nelson Hall theatre. The uplifting, poignant comedy features actor Bob Stromberg as Mr. Wonder Boy. Stromberg is best known for originating the role of “Bobby Bean” in the long running box office hit Triple Espresso-a highly caffeinated comedy (coming to Nelson Hall in March 2011.)

To familiarize the public with Bob Stromberg, Nelson Hall is presenting a one-night showcase event on Thursday, September 9, to spotlight Bob in a variety show that will introduce people to his many talents and mesmerizing stage charisma. Nelson Hall Theatre Manager, Rachele Patrignelli, is hoping the showcase event will generate excitement for the upcoming Mr. Wonder Boy: “People seem really interested in Mr. Wonder Boy but they want to know more about Bob and about the show, which is hard to describe without seeing for yourself. What we are offering our audience on September 9 is a taste of Bob Stromberg and a little sneak preview of what they can expect from Mr. Wonder Boy.”

Seating is limited for this special performance, which includes a pre-show party and hot hors d’oeuvres with special guest radio personality Renee from the River 105.9.

Stromberg, a native of rural Northern Pennsylvania, studied at North ParkCollege in Chicago and the Celebration Mime Theatre in Maine. An accomplished actor, Bob has also authored several books, Finding the Magnificent in Lower Mundane; the award-winning and beautifully illustrated family story The Miracle at Stinky Bay; and the best-selling Why Geese Fly Farther Than Eagles.

Mr. Wonder Boy, Bob’s one-man show, premiered in 2008 with reviews comparing him to a young Dick Van Dyke with “… superb physical malleability, a halting vocal delivery and perfect timing.” (Minneapolis Star Tribune.) Stromberg is also known by many for his appearances on the award winning TV comedy Bananas.
