The Minutes of the last PPG meeting dated 7th March, 2016 were read and approved.
Matters Arising:
1.EPS seems to be working OK but there are still service problems at the WELL Pharmacies.
Colin intends to bring this up at the next Locality Meeting.
2.The 2 new GPs are working on a month to month basis but hopefully will move to a permanent 5sessions per week each, with Dr Arshad covering 8 sessions.
3.A new method of ringback has been introduced. Information regarding Patient request for GP contact is entered on the GP screens for them to action as necessary.
4.The meeting was informed by Dianne that the BT . 5 ringback service that some patients use, lapses after 45minutes. (Peter to check with BT)
Subjects for June Video
1.Colin presented a list of subjects in line with national campaigns. These were accepted.
2.Posters handed to Dianne for inclusion on the CARER’S notice boards. These advertise a charity football match in May, between Stoke City & Port Vale in aid of North staffs Carers.
Plan to Reduce DNA figures
Colin produced sheets which showed that high levels of DNA’s continued to be reported at both surgeries.
After much discussion it was agreed that Derrath would identify regular offenders and set up a text reminder service to hopefully improve attendance. Colin & Peter agreed to put a form of words together to re-enforce the need to stop wasting the time of GPs and Nurses.
A.O.B.
1.Derrath asked if the PPG would help run the Flu. Vaccination clinics as a drop in facility in Oct.
It was agreed that 3 members at a time could cope with organising and marshalling patients.
Saturday mornings at alternate surgeries were suggested as the best times to do this.
Audley PPG has done similar sessions and Colin agreed to contact them for advice.
2.Nurse Charlotte has started the over 75 Health Check this week starting with patients over 85.
Next Meeting will beon Monday 6th June 2016. at 6.30pm.Waterhayes Surgery
It is essential that as many members as possible attend.
