QUOTATION PUNCTUATION STUDY GUIDE

Part I: Identify the sentence that uses correct punctuation in each set of four sentences. Study your “Rules for Quotation Marks in Direct Dialogue” (also called “Handout: How to Use Quotation Punctuation” on Mr. Oakley’s Warren Hills web site) to help you. PART II:Identify the following statements about quotation punctuation as True or False.

11. ______You can use quotation marks around words even if you are not using the person’s exact words.
