The following persons were present:Tracy Kennedy, Charlotte Wiles, Cynthia Martin, Pam Posey, Lura Powell, Teresa Mullen, Cheryl Byrd, Tabitha Fondren, Bonnie Carr,Brenda Huff andBarbara Klutts. Validation of absences was given for the following board members:Dick Black, Sherri McCourtney, Sonya Maye, and Mary Ditzell.

Charlotte called the meeting to orderat 12:03 p.m. Cynthia made a motion to approve the minutes from the August meeting. Tracy seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report

Pam presented the Treasurer’s Report. Pam talked to the storage facility that we are currently using and they agreed to $330.00/month. Tracy made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report. Teresa seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Public Relations/Membership

Nothing to report.

Tobacco/Substance Prevention

Tabitha is taking care of Red Ribbon week.

Wellness

Teresa is considering doing t-shirts to sell for WAPC. She wants to have them available at the kick off. She isalso thinking about creating categories for competition to make it more fun.

Seniors

Nothing to report.

Action Items:

Brenda and Charlotte attended the opening of the Aleah House. They are ready to start moving families in when the rooms are furnished. They are still looking for a house mother. There are four family rooms and a house mother room upstairs. Charlotte would like for QOL to contribute. Room sponsorship is $2000. Each room will need beds, towels, a lamp, a table and a mini freezer/fridge. They do not accept emergency situations there is an application process. Tracy made a motion to sponsor a room up to $2500.00 and to be put on a list for emergencies. Pam seconded it. Motion carried.

The annual meeting will be held in November. We will elect officers for the upcoming year during this meeting. Tracy made a motion to approve the election ballot. Teresa seconded the motion. Motion carried.

There will be a meeting in DPIL meeting in Bryant on October 26th from 10-2. Registration should be turned in by Friday.

The speaker this month was Julie Oglesby. She is a licensed associate counselor and marriage and family therapist with Healthy Connections. She made the QOL aware of the services offered at Healthy Connections concerning counseling assistance.
