Q. How do I join a MAM account?

A. Follow the below steps

1)If you do not already have an account at ICMarkets open an account using the link your Money Manager has provided OR sign up here.

2)Complete the Limited Power of Attorney (LPOA) provided by your Money Manager and send it to . Or upload it in your secure area with your personal documents and let us know when done. We will then open a new sub account attached to the specified MAM.

3)Fund your normal live trade account by logging into yourICMarkets Secure area and clicking the ‘Deposit Funds’ button. You can also email our team to transfer funds from a normal trading account to your MAM sub account. Or you can wire directly to your sub account by stating the sub account number on your bank wire reference

4)Your Money Manager will need to activate you in the MAM

5)Your account is ready to trade!

Q. Can I access and view the activity of my MAM sub account in the MT4 Terminal?

A. Yes

Q. Can I trade in my MAM sub account?

A. No, this is not allowed – the account is set to ‘read only’

Q. Will I receive updates on my account performance?

A. IC Markets will email you a daily statement of trading activity with an update on the available balance and equity of your account.

Q. I have funded my account but I don’t see any activity?

A. Check if your Money Manager has activated your account

Q. How do I cancel / deactivate my account and revoke LPOA?

A. Send an email to your Money Manager stating that you want to stop using the MAM and that you wish to revoke the LPOA (cc ). Your Money Manager will de-activate you from the MAM. You must then discuss with your Money Manager regarding any open positions. When you are de-activated from the MAM no future trades are executed on your account, but open trades will continue to be managed by the Money Manager.

Q. Who can close trades in my account?

A. Only your Money Manager or IC Markets (only if requested by the Money Manager.)

Q. I already have an IC Markets account, do I need to open a new account for the MAM?

A. No, simply complete the LPOA and email it to us or upload it in your secure area and let us know

Q. I have a few accounts at IC Markets, how can I see all my accounts, including my MAM Sub account in 1 terminal?

A. Sure, you can see all of your accounts under the same platform, but you will need to login to each account separately first. Those passwords were sent to you via email, just search your inbox for the relevant account number or filter emails from IC Markets. (check spam/junk if you cannot locate them)

You will have access to each account you have logged in to if you click on them on the navigator window on the left

Q. I cannot reach my Money Manager and I want to de-activate my MAM with immediate effect

A. IC Markets will allow the Money Manager 24 hours to respond to your request, failing to respond IC Markets will de-activate your account.

Trading Conditions

Q. What is the spread for MAM accounts (compared to regular accounts)?

A. The same (please note that some Money Managers will mark up the spreads/trading commissions)

Q. Can Expert Advisors operate on a MAM account?

A. Yes, it is applied to the Master Trading account only.

Q. Will my account execute at the same price and time as the Master Account?

A. The master account trade is allocated to sub accounts post trade. All sub accounts receive the same price.

Q. Will my MAM sub account be a standard or ECN account?

A. This depends on the Money Managers specifications. It will be the same as the Master Account. Please confirm with your Money Manager

Q. What leverage will be on my MAM Sub Account?

A. This depends on the Money Managers specifications. It will be the same as the Master Account. Please confirm with your Money Manager

Q. What base currency will the account be in?

A. This depends on the Money Managers specifications. It will be the same as the Master Account. Please confirm with your Money Manager

Q. If the MAM account is in one currency, does my account have to be in the same currency?

A. Yes

Q. What trading commissions will I pay when joining the MAM?

A. The normal IC Markets commissions are $7. Some Money Managers may mark up or offer direct discount. Please check the LPOA or confirm with if you are unsure.

Funding & Withdrawals

Q. How do I fund my MAM sub account?

A. Fund your normal live trade account by logging into yourICMarkets Secure area and clicking the ‘Deposit Funds’ button. Q. What is the minimum amount I can fund my account with?

A. This is based on the conditions of your Money Manger. You will need to confirm with them.

Q. Can I transfer funds from another account to my MAM Sub Account?

A. Yes, you can email stating the amount and TO and FROM account numbers for the transfer

Q. Can I do an internal transfer to and from my MAM Sub Account?

A. No this is blocked for Managed Accounts. You will not be able to do this in your secure area. You need to complete the MAM transfer form.

Q. Do trades need to be closed to make a withdrawal from my MAM Sub Account?

A. If you are withdrawing all your balance yes (contact your Money Manager). If you are doing a partial withdrawal usually if the withdrawal is not more than 20% of the total free equity of the account the withdrawal is processed without the need to close open trades. Please confirm it with your Money Manager

Q. How do I withdraw funds from my MAM sub account?

A.You must complete a ‘MAM Transfer Form’ which is supplied by your Money Manager. Once you have completed the form please send it to (cc’ing your Money Manager) if they are not included on all correspondence then it can delay processes.

Q. Can I withdraw my funds at any time?

A: Yes. Different Money Managers will set different requested criteria for withdrawals such as, being able to withdraw up to 20% of your equity at anytime. They may request that larger withdrawals or account closures be processed when no trades are open. Please confirm it with your Money Manager.

Q. Can I do a partial withdrawal of funds/profits from my MAM Sub Account and the account remains active?

A. Yes, you must complete a ‘MAM Transfer Form’ which is supplied by your Money Manager. Once you have completed the form please send it to (cc’ing your Money Manager) usually if the withdrawal is not more than 20% of the total free equity of the account the withdrawal is processed without the need to close open trades. Please confirm it with your Money Manager

Q. How long does it take to process a withdrawal from a MAM sub Account?

A. Between 24-48hrs (usually within 24 hours)

Q. I have deposited to my account but I don’t see the money there yet?

A. Please forward a payment receipt to to locate the payment status

Performance Fees

Q. What is the percentage of performance fees I will pay?

A. This is decided between yourself and the Money Manager.

Q. Does IC Markets automatically debit the performance fees?

A. No, the Money Managers calculate the performance fees and send us the accounts to debit. We check the figures and debit the client accounts.

Q. When does IC Markets debit performance fees?

A. This usually occurs once per month, at the beginning of each month for the previous month’s activity.

Q. How does the watermark high calculation work?

A. The high watermark calculation creates a scenario where the client is only charged a performance fee once their balance has exceeded the previous highest point.

For example:

Starting Deposit = $1,000

Month 1 = $1,100 (10% gain)

Fee = $30 ($1,070 balance)

Month 2 = $1,000 (7% loss)

Fee = zero

Month 3 = $1,200 (20% gain)

Fee = $30 (30% of the $100 gain on the previous highest balance before the fee was withdrawn)
