Put Yourself in Our Boots launch party

The John Petropoulos Memorial Fund (JPMF) is very excited to announce the launch of the Put Yourself in Our Boots workplace safety campaign. The campaign - which will begin later this year and continue throughout 2010 - includes a short safety video, 3 video public service announcements (PSAs), radio PSAs, print PSAs, an info booklet and a major online component.

The campaign offers a fresh way of looking at workplace safety and it encourages businesses to think about workplace safety for everyone, including police, fire and EMS workers.

Before Put Yourself in Our Boots is launched publicly, the JPMF will be hosting a launch party to recognize those who have spent the last year working on the project. Those who have worked on the campaign, as well as JPMF volunteers and project stakeholders, will be invited to a special screening of the video and PSAs. They will also be treated to great food and a silent auction at Stix Sports Bar, located at 5255 Richmond Rd SW in Calgary, on Nov. 28, 2009.

But in order for the silent auction to be a success, we need great silent auction prizes!

About the JPMF

Const.John Petropoulos, of the Calgary Police Service, passed away on Sept. 29, 2000 at the age of 32. John passed away in the line of duty while investigating a break & enter complaint. He died from brain injuries sustained after falling through a false ceiling, as there was no safety railing to warn him of the danger. The call turned out to be a false alarm.
