Purpose and Scope of the Role:

The individual who fills this role is responsible for the control, operation, and preventative maintenance of the Cary office facilities and mission vehicles.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Essential functions:

  • Control, operation, and preventative maintenance of
  • Copiers
  • Electronic and Audio Visual equipment
  • Office building
  • HVAC system
  • Electrical system
  • Furniture
  • Office equipment and appliances
  • Mission vehicles
  • Burglar and fire system
  • Sprinkler system and grounds
  • Plumbing
  • Appliances
  • Manage Maintenance Hotline and work order requests
  • Handle room, HVAC set ups for meetings and events
  • Control and organize storage on the 3rd floor
  • Construct and modify approved office changes

Non-essential functions:

  • Back up shipping and receiving requests

Experience Requirements:

  • General knowledge and experience in landscaping, construction, mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electricity and electronics

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional hours outside this time frame
  • Must lift 60 lbs.
  • Must work with and take standard precautions with electrical circuits and wiring, climbing ladders, operating standard tools and equipment used in building and grounds maintenance and repair, using chemicals, paint and cleaners
  • Must be able to use goggles, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, protective clothing and gloves when appropriate
  • Hazards of the job include possible inhalation injuries, eye and hearing injury, back, foot and hand injury, head injury, contact irritation, burns, breathing hazardous fumes, electrical shock

Qualifications and Core Competencies required:

  • Must be proficient in the computer technology and software, i.e. Microsoft Office
  • Must speak, read, write and comprehend fluent English
  • Must have the ability to develop, maintain, and carry out short- and long-term preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment
  • Must have strong organizational skills as well as the ability to manage several projects at the same time
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented and a creative problem solver
  • Must be able to work on a team as well as independently
  • Must be flexible and make adjustments as situations require
  • Must have patience and perseverance
  • Must agree with TWR’s mission and doctrinal statement
  • Must be able to raise and maintain personal support
