Main Function of the Job

·  To provide feedback, support and guidance to learners on distance learning qualifications through Petroc Direct. This role is working from home and not based at the College, you must have a computer as all assessments are marked and feedback given online.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1.  To provide robust, supportive and constructive feedback to learners within the agreed timeframe

2.  To ensure that registers are completed accurately and promptly when feedback is given or developmental contact is made with the learner

3.  To ensure that the distance learning programmes are completed within the designated timescales of the individual study plan, and to report any emerging issues to the Line Manager

4.  To take ownership of retention, success rates and the quality of provision for the distance learning courses supported

5.  To work with Line Manager to ensure that early leavers/transfers/ completions and Awarding Body registrations are actioned promptly and accurately

6.  To contribute to the Self-Assessment Reporting process if requested by the Line Manager

7.  To provide guidance and support to individual learners and make any necessary recommendations for referral to specialist agencies

8.  To participate in team and standardisation meetings as required

9.  To continue to maintain and develop your own professional development and updates of specialist industry knowledge

10. To effectively manage own case load and provide learner progress updates as requested by the Line Manager

Candidates will be judged according to the degree with which they meet the following Person Specification

Education and Qualifications
Ø  D32/33 and D34 and/or A1/V1 Assessor/ Verifier (TAQA) Awards or willingness to achieve
Ø  Professional qualification in the subject specific area
Ø  Certificate of Education or equivalent teaching or training qualification or willingness to achieve
Ø  Good working knowledge of IT and Office applications
Ø  Evidence of continuing professional development
Relevant Knowledge and Experience
Ø  Current professional knowledge, skills and experience in the qualification subject area
Ø  Knowledge of current assessment best practice
Ø  Experience of assessment and/or verification/moderation
Ø  Learner management and support
