Purbeck House Care Home is registered to provide 24 hour residential care for 15 service users. The Home specialises in caring for older persons who have dementia and/ or other mental health needs.
Purbeck House, operating as a care home since 1983, has been owned by the current provider, Robert Stephen, since December 2005. He has been involved in the care sector as a provider since 1990 gaining a level 4 NVQ Register Managers Award in 2002.
Denise Egginton, the Registered Manager has been employed in the care sector since 1990. She has achieved a level 4 NVQ Registered Managers Award, a level 4 NVQ in Management and levels 2 and 3 NVQ in care.
Julie Erridge is the Day to Day manager and has over 15 years’ experience in the care sector. Julie has achieved a level 5 Diploma in Management and has both an NVQ 2 and 3 in care
We aim to provide high quality person centred care as evidenced by our comprehensive and robust quality assurance system where each person is treated with dignity, and where independence is promoted and encouraged at all times.
Our approach to quality was acknowledged by the Care Quality Commission who awarded us a 'Good' rating in all five inspected areas in January 2016.
Purbeck house is situated close to Waterlooville town Centre and therefore only a short distance from the main shopping area, where you can find coffee, gift and fashion shops. Being on the main A3, there is a convenient bus stop within 100 metres.
The Home has 7 single and 4 shared rooms all individually decorated and furnished to a high standard, all rooms benefiting from a personal call system. The shared rooms are equipped with privacy screens and ensuite facilities. In our seaside themed bathroom, bathing is made easy with a Malibu specialist bath which is fitted with temperature controlled taps, a hydraulic chair and a shower attachment.
The Home provides a varied and highly nutritious menu which takes account of personal preferences and uses fresh ingredients.
Purbeck provides daily activities which include craft, baking, quizzes and games and residents and their families are welcome to suggest new ideas in our regular meeting forums. Activities are adapted to suit the needs of our residents
There are regular visits from the chiropodist and optician. Arrangements can also be made for a dentist to visit as required.
Fees vary according to resident need and room but start at £575 per week. You are welcome to visit our home at any time.
