Veterans Moving Forward, Inc.
Puppy Raiser & Sitter Application
Dear Volunteer,
Thank you for your interest in becoming a puppy raiser/sitter with VMF. Volunteers are the lifeblood of Veterans Moving Forward (VMF) and so important to achieving our mission. Puppy raisers invest energy every day to help transform our Service Dogs in Training (SDiT) from cute, adorable, and sometimes clumsy puppies to focused, highly skilled and mature service animals for deserving veterans. Puppy sitters ensure consistency in training while providing puppies an opportunity to experience different environments and giving raisers peace of mind when they travel.
Preparing a valuable puppy to become a service dog is tremendously rewarding, and is also a serious commitment and responsibility. We encourage you to review the Puppy Raiser Frequently Asked Questions on VMF’s website before submitting your application. Ourcanine team members will provide additional information and details, answer your questions, provide training, and guide you through this experience. We are a supportive, close-knit team who will support you every step of the way.
Thank you for your consideration and willingness to donate your time, energy, and home to train a service dog for a disabled veteran. It is through the collaborative efforts of our dedicated volunteers, donors, and strategic partners that VMF is able to provide veterans with service dogs that help increase the veteran’s independence and ability to function more effectively within their homes and communities. We look forward to welcoming you to our team.
Sincerely,
Veterans Moving Forward
