Year Assemblies: Pupils and staff should go straight to the Assembly Hall on their allocated day where the class will be registered. All pupils should be seated together in their registration class.

Library at Lunchtime: Today and tomorrow's activities are being swapped. Today is for The Novelties Book Group and tomorrow, the library will be open to everyone.

International Week - is next week, from Monday 21 September;Meine Damen und Herren, Mesdames et Messieurs, Girls and Boys! Guten Abend, bonsoir, wie geht's? Comment ca va? Do you feel good? We bet you do when you read this!Lots ofactivities and events have been planned fornext week, including:

Speak To Me– Staff will wear badges askingYOU to speak tothem in a foreign language. Ifyou speak in French, German or Spanish to a member of staff, they will signyour planner.There will be a prize for the pupil who speaks to the most teachers and collects the most signatures.

The Library and the canteen will be festooned with bunting and flags and there will be European music playing at intervals and lunchtimes during the week.

There will be atreasure hunt tocollectinformation about European countries.

S2 pupils will complete an Around the World in Books challengeduring English Library periods.

The canteen staff will be cooking up a storm of international dishes for all in school.

And, the fantastical amazing ending of the week, on Friday at lunchtime in the library, will be our now annual and hugely popular Eurovision Song Contest. This will have even more glamour and glitz than before, with three pupil acts, including a spot the staff member in the Bucks Fizz group. We will also have a veryspecial staff act and French, German and Spanish judges, assisted by S6 and staff translators. Our own version of Graham Norton will be in charge of proceedings, with two sparkling assistants, who aim to ensure that this Eurofun event goes Boom Bang a Boom.Not to be missed!!

S1-S3

S2 MidYis Assessment: This will take place on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th September 2015.

The following classes should report to the Assembly Hall at the following times please?

2A,2B,2C, 2D should report to the Assembly Hall directly after registration on Thursday 17th September 2015.

They should bring with them a blue or black pen, pencil, rubber and a ruler. Students will return to class during period 2.

2E,F,G,H, should report to the hall directly after lunch on Thursday with the correct equipment – a blue or black pen, pencil, rubber and a ruler. Students will return to class during period 6.

2J,K,L should report to the hall directly after lunch on Friday 18th September 2015 with the correct equipment – a blue or black pen, pencil, rubber and a ruler, Students will return to class during period 6.

S1 S2 Rugby Team: have a HOME match against Gordonstoun Development Team on Tuesday September 29th. A good turnout at training is important.

S3 Interhouse Football: S3 boys football Tuesday 1pm on the astro. Wear your house colours.

1/S2 Cookery Club: Cookery Club will run onTHURSDAY this week from 3.20pm to 4.20pm pleasesign up in the HEdept ASAP. it will cost£1.00 and you should bring a container.(KA)

S1 – S4 Girls: Girls football team training on a Monday 15.30 till 16.30pm. Meet outside the PE department. Please collect a consent form from the PE department and hand it back in asap.

Art Club: If you enjoy art and want to get involved in entering some great art competitions, as well as earn points for your house, then come along to B39 Thursday lunchtimes. We will meet every Thursday lunchtime to work on our first competition. Any questions see Miss Tullis. (MT)

S6 Social Committee: There will be a meeting for all S6 students who have signed up to be on the S6 social committee on Thursday 17th at 1:10 in B53.

S6 Fundraising Committee: All those who volunteered for the S6 Fundraising Committee are invited to a quick meeting at 1.10pm on Thursday 17th September in Room G08 (Mr Terron’s classroom). If you are unable to attend please let Mr Terron know. There will be biscuits. And cake. (DT)

Oxford University: Oxford University representatives have offered to do a workshop with any Oxford hopefuls on the morning of Wednesday 16 September between 9.30 and 10.30am at Gordonstoun. This is the same day as the Gordonstoun UCAS Convention. If you are interested in attending, please see your Guidance Teacher to book your place. Thank you (CF)

S6 Students - Moray UCAS / Career Convention (Wednesday 16 September 2015): Can all students who attended the Aberdeen University Open Day trip please return your parental consent for the trip to Gordonstoun to your Guidance teacher asap? Without parental consent, unfortunately you will be unable to attend.
