Public Speaking – Non Verbal and Verbal Delivery Workshop

ONE SENTENCE – ONE MINUTE

Instructions: Choose one sentence from the collection below and deliver a one minute speech during which the only words you speak are the words sentence you choose. You should stick to the basic content of the sentence, but you can ad lib a bit to enhance the original sentence.

Focus: Each time you say the sentence, work on implementing appropriate gestures, movement, eye contact, pausing, and inflecting.

1. We must work together to build a successful school.

2. The issues we are facing are not as big as other people would have you believe.

3. We should look to the past to find our way into the future.

4. The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence. The grass is greenest where you water it.
