RESOLUTION NO. 01/06-1

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF

***COUNTY PUBLIC HOSPITAL DISTRICT NO. ***,

***COUNTY, WASHINGTON, RELATING TO

THE AFFIRMATION OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

FOR ELIGIBLE DISTRICT STAFF.

WHEREAS, *** County Public Hospital District No. *** provides comprehensive employee benefits to eligible persons employed or affiliated with the District; and

WHEREAS, the District continues to experience significant challenges in recruiting and retaining qualified healthcare personnel in all fields and disciplines; and

WHEREAS, the District wishes to improve employee retention and to enhance recruitment efforts by maintaining a competitive and fiscally prudent program of employee benefits; and

WHEREAS, the District believes that in order to achieve a culture of service excellence it must create and maintain reward and recognition programs that improve employee job satisfaction and therefore performance; and

WHEREAS, the District believes that employee benefits of the nature contemplated by this Resolution have a positive effect on recruitment, retention, and employee job satisfaction and morale in excess of their cost, and that such benefits achieve the desires stated above.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISIONERS OF PUBLIC HOSPITAL DISTRICT NO. ***, *** COUNTY, WASHINGTON, as follows:

Section 1:The Commission hereby affirms the programs mentioned above and authorizes and directs the District Superintendent to continue for all eligible employees the following employee benefits:

Work Life Conveniences

  • General Stores available at cost
  • Holiday Pies
  • Catering of Employee Celebrations and other events occurring in the course of Business at the District.

Reward and Recognition Programs

  • Team Accountability and Respect System Reward and Recognition Program items such as: meals; gift certificates; espresso coupons; jackets; t-shirts; carrying bags; writing pens; blankets; mugs; and other similar items.
  • Annual Employee Picnic and related expenses
  • Annual Holiday Meal and related expenses
  • “Hospital Week” “Nurses Week” and other similar celebrations

Section 2:Employee benefits set forth under this Resolution shall be considered taxable compensation subject to the specific provisions of federal and state laws, rules, and regulations governing such matters.

ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the Commissioners of Public Hospital District No. ***, *** County, Washington, at a regular open meeting thereof this Twenty-Fourth day of January 2006, the following Commissioners present and voting.
