Commissioner Gardner called the Public Hearing to order at 4:02 p.m. on the proposed F/Y 2014/2015 UT Budget.
Commissioner Gardner gave the floor to Interim UT Supervisor Heron Weston. Heron presented the budget overview. After a brief review Commissioner Gardner stated that the budget presented for approval included a substantial increase,the driving factor being the proposed position of a full-time Shellfish and Animal Control Officer. The total appropriated budget amount is $1,293,355 with $839,105 to be raised by taxation. Commissioner Gardner stated that he was comfortable with these numbers. Much of the budget was compiled by UT Supervisor Dean Preston before he deployed to Afghanistan. It was

noted that, based on Dean’s experience, he has a good handle on the budget needed to fund operations. Commissioner Gardner thanked Heron for filling in for Dean during his absence. With no further discussion needed
*MOTION* Commissioner Cassidy moved to accept the F/Y 2014/2015
UT Budget in the amount of $1,293,355.00 with the amount
of $839,105.00 to be raised through taxation. Commissioner Gardner seconded the motion which passed 2-0.
There were no comments or statements from the public.
Only one original budget was sign due to the absence of Commissioner Crowley.
