Public Allies Objectives and Outcomes Worksheet
Use this worksheet to design objectives statements and outcomes statements for your Ally’s position description. For your objective statements, create a statement for each main body of work your Ally will be responsible for carrying out. You should create as many as called for in order to cover the scope of work of your Ally’s position description. For your outcome statements, you should create at least one, and any additional statements that will enable the outcomes of your Ally’s work to be measured. Answer the questions below, and the results will be transferred to (1) a full position description document, and (2) Public Allies electronic Personal Impact Service Documentation (PISD) system found at
I) Create an Objective statement
The objectivestatementis a sentence or two that outlines the specifics of the activity that the Ally will be working on.

ii) Create an outcome
The outcome statement describes the changes we want to see as a result of the Ally’s objectives. It identifies (1) a target group, (2) states an action verb and (3) articulates a resulting change in the target group.

iii) Create Standard, Measure and Timeframe
A measure is a tool you’ll use to find out whether or not the change you want to see is actually occurring. A standard is the rate or amount of change you would like to see consider the work successful.
