Plagiarism and Turn-it-in

  • Students are strongly advised to put all written assignments through Turn-it-in.
  • Although this is not compulsory, those not using Turn-it-in need to explain why they have not done this in the space below.
  • Lecturers have the discretion of not insisting on this – check with your lecturer and indicate this in the space provided.
  • These people will have their assignments closely scrutinized for plagiarism, whereas those who have submitted them will avoid this.
  • There may be no more than 20% matching text, excluding the references.
  • Students are advised to submit their assignments to TII without the references attached.
  • Students must attach the results of the Turn-it-in process (front page only) to their assignments.
  • ASSIGNMENTS WITHOUT EITHER THE TURN-IT-IN FRONT PAGE OR THE REASONS FOR NOT USING TURN-IT-IN, WILL LOSE 30% OF THEIR MARK FOR THE ASSIGNMENT.
