Provide Education, shelter and Feed AIDS Orphans in rural western Kenya.

Berakah International Foundation (B.I.F.) is focusing to liberate vulnerable who have been made vulnerable due to abject poverty or an Orphans who lost one or both of their parents as a result of the HIV/AIDS pandemic which is prevalent in Western Kenya. Although government sponsored education is free, these children lack resources to obtain the compulsory tuition fee, required school uniforms and supplies to attend school. However, in a country where the average wage earned is approximately $30 per month, education is simply not affordable for most vulnerable and AIDS orphans. Your donation will help provide a child with good education, both formal and informal, a uniforms, meals, medicine, shelter, clothingand supplies for one school year. In addition to assisting the orphaned children with their basic needs, your donation will also help improve the environment in which they learn and will also include transportation to their respective high school.

Most households here are stuck in systemic poverty cycles and many children here have lost either a parent or both to HIV/AIDS, thus lacking access to good education, shelter, food, and healthcare. This project is working in fighting abject poverty characterized by poor health, illiteracy and other natural causes. Your donation helps fight poverty by empowering vulnerable children aged between 3 – 18 years, through basic needs free, quality education, and healthcare.

With your support, the project will ensure consistent support to enable 150 children to go to school, provided with school uniforms, clothes, fees, food, shelter and medical care.

Your support will also provide education bursaries/scholarships to 50high school students. The bursaries will cover the cost of tuition, transport (purchase of Bicycles), medical care, supplies, and other basic services. This project will later be able to run full-fledged orphanage for more orphans and vulnerable children that provide meals, clothes, medical care, and community water source.

Research has indicated that education is the single most effective way to escape the cycle of poverty. Improving access to basic needs including to a child is the first step to improving their living conditions. Education will allow them to prepare for employment a d also prepare them for local income generating activities long term economic growth and ultimately towards sustainable development in the future.

The project will make sure all school dropouts especially teenage girls are back in school by providing them with sanitary towels and other basic needs. Provision of these pads will reduce manipulation by men who promise to provide them with the money to buy the pads; this will increase on the school enrolment and completion of education cycle.

With your support towards this project, we will make a direct impact on the livelihood of many children and their community at large by reducing the systematic poverty in households through the education of these children.

Being a low-cost and no-frills NGO, we are proud to state that 100% of your donation towards this project will go directly to the cause for which it is intended.
