Examples of well known proverbs:

·  Honesty is the best policy.

·  The early bird gets the worm.

Proverbs often sum up powerfully the idea that all humans are one. We need to try to understand, respect, and be more tolerant of our differences. Proverbs -- brief maxims that put complex thoughts into simple and powerful words -- often express great wisdom about the need for humans to get along.

In honor of the 15th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon find an appropriate proverb that speaks most powerfully about such ideas as freedom, tolerance, patriotism, diversity, respect, and appreciating differences. Select and illustrate a proverb that means something to you. Then write a brief explanation of why you selected the proverb. You should write about the proverbs as they relate to the events of September 11th.
