Prospect Info

By now you will know how this club was formed but may still have a few questions. This small heads up may enlighten you to the world of the MCC and MC and why we need a prospecting period.

PROSPECTING!

We, Invictus MCC firmly believe that the time you have served as a Para or a Bootneck proves your worth to be part of this club of ours, and yours.

We are totally unique, given the two sources we draw ranks from, and this has been recognised by MC’s and MCC’s both nationally and internationally, however, we maintain a prospecting period which enables you to look at the club you may soon be a member of, and also for the members (including other prospects) to take a look at you and see if you are suitable for the club and what we stand for.

The time you will serve as a prospect also serves to allow you to meet other MCC’s and MC’s quite intimately and see if this is the kind of world which you are happy to circulate in and again, is the world of Motor Cycle Clubs ready for you?

All MC’s and the vast majority of MCC’S enforce a time of prospecting upon its new members for several reasons, these include level of commitment to the club, ability to ride as a pack (no one needs a head the ball who is unpredictable riding with them), the ability to follow instruction for the benefit of the club and also level of integrity and honesty.

What is an MCC?

In short: Motor Cycle Club.

Patches are worn on the front of jackets or cuts. Some MCC’s are more difficult to join than others, like our own club Invictus MCC. Patches can’t be bought online or at a rally or festivals (unlike some standard motorcycle groups).

The vast majority of MCC’s are seen as rally clubs who have a simplecommon appreciation of bikes (and this may be over a certain style or brand of bike).Certain MCC’s wear a side rocker, and this would usually tell other clubs that this club is more than a Rally Club (RC) or Social Motor Club (SMC) and courtesies are paid accordingly.

OtherMCC’s are however extremely serious about their club and have inplace a similar structure to that of an MC. Some MCC’s wear a support patch for their local MC and this would prove theirties to that particular MC, in favor of other MC’s.

The vast majority of MCC’s are there to enrich the social lives of its members.

What is an MC?

In short: Motorcycle Club (some say Motorcycle Corporation)

This is to say, it is a lifestyle choice, a brotherhood more than friendship.

Patches cannot be bought but earned through a lengthy process of Hangaroud and Prospecting. To be accepted by am MC you will have to be prepared to support the club in its entirety and make it your priority. Patches worn by those hanging around and prospecting say simply that HANGAROUND (you are showing an interest in the club and are keen to attend functions etc.) PROSPECT ( you have decided to be in to the brotherhood and are prepared to cut your teeth, this is not a decision to be taken lightly or on a whim. Usually worn with a bottom rocker on the back).

Once Patched in, members wear a three-piece patch, top and bottom rocker with colours in the center.

Never underestimate the importance of the colours a member wears, to be disrespectful to a members colours can draw a lot of trouble onto the offender and the clubs he represents. (clubs have been closed down after failing to control the attitude of its members).

What does Invictus MCC expect of you as a Prospect?

We understand that we are not an MC, we don’t expect you to be at the beck and call of full patched members at all times of the night and day, we all have families and work commitments that differ member to member.

We shall offer you a GO TO man, someone who lives near by you or someone you know anyway, ideally this would fit both criteria.

They are in position to help you through what some would seem is a daunting process, there to answer your question and pass on information from you and too you for and about the club.

We ask that you attend meeting and functions that you can attend (please consider your family and work before you commit to riding somewhere), and if your plans change you pass on that info at the earliest opportunity either through your shadow or direct to Club Officers. This would give the club time to change plans and possible cancel events or pull out of attending events due to commitments.
