CONTRACTOR ACCESS

PROPERTY SERVICES, SELFRIDGES, TRAFFORD CENTRE

In all instances contractors will be required to complete contractor access forms prior to attendance on site.All forms should be issued to the Property Services Team at least 72 hours in advance of anticipated attendance.

Instructions to Contractors

Contractor Access forms will be issued to the contractor by the nominated Selfridges contact acting as the project manager for the works. This can be any one of the below and will be referred to on this form as the Selfridges contact:

Selfridges Project Manager, Concession Manager, Maintenance Manager or a member of the Property Services Team.

Concession’s contractors can only gain access to the store with the Concession Manager’s prior knowledge, agreement and submission of the completed Access Forms.

All contractors should confirm that arrangements have been made for access with the Selfridges contact 24 hours in advance of attendance.

Contractors are responsible for completing the contractors access form, Selfridges method statement and Selfridges risk assessment. No other form of documentation will be accepted. These should be attached alongwith copies of Employer’s Liability and Public Liability insurance documents and sent by email:

The Selfridges contact should also be copied into the e-mail for information.All correspondence should clearly state the name of the Selfridges contact as above.

It is the Selfridges contact’s responsibility to ensure that the contractor access forms are completed in full and that they are accompanied by all required documents as above. They should also ensure that all levels of authorisation are sign-off prior to commencement of works.

are attended to Monday to Friday 08.00 – 16.00. E-mails sent outside of these times will not be processed until the next working day.

Method statements and risk assessments accompanying the contractor access form should be sufficiently detailed to descibe the work being undertaken and include details of any and all implications for engineering services installations and fabric. All method statements and risk assessments should be site specific. No generic documents will be accepted. Failure to complete the forms in full or provide suitable and sufficient method statements and risk assessments may result in access being delayed or denied. Blank templates are available on request.

All permits to work activities for hot works, work at height, sprinkler system drain downs and external works on the Selfridges building have to be requested through the Trafford Centre permits office. They can be contacted by the following methods:

N.B. Selfridges operates a formal permit to work system, where hazardous or complex works requiring isolation of building services are identified, this procedure will apply. Refer to the Selfridges’ "Contractors Rule Book" for further information. A current copy can be provided on

We understand that all employees must bring Photo ID (passport, National Identity Card, Drivers License or current CSCS card only) with them as proof of identification to get on site.

* All three signatures are required only when there are engineering works to take place. For all other works, the Selfridges contact and the Property Services Facility Manager only are required to authorise the form.

* In all cases, the final sign off will be by the Property Services Facility Manager. Failure to complete this process will result in access being denied.

CONTRACTOR DELIVERY BOOKING IN PROCESS

  • Contractor Parking on Service Yard 3

Contractors may park on Service Yard 3 outside trading hours by all vehicles must be clear by 0600 hrs Monday – Saturday and 0930hours on Sunday’s.

During Trading hours contractors are not permitted to park on the loading bay only allowed to unload their vehicles. Parking can be obtained in the external Trafford Centre car parks.
