Assumption of Liability
It is understood that under Oregon Law ORS 30.687-30.697, no person shall be liable for damages sustained by another solely as a result of risks inherent in equine activity, in so far as those risks are, or should be, reasonably obvious, expected or necessary to the person injured.
The adopter shall assume all liability and responsibility for the Horse / Mule / Donkey / Llama from the effective date of this agreement. The adopter agrees that by accepting the animal that they assume full liability and responsibility for any injury or expense that may be incurred by any person or animal.
Any damages to any property by the Horse / Mule / Donkey / Llama, shall fully indemnify and hold harmless the Project Spirit, its employees, agents, representatives individually and collectively, from and against all claims, demands, causes of action, costs, charges, and expenses of every kind and nature, caused by the adoption of the Horse / Mule / Donkey / Llama.

Adoption Regulations and Agreement:
The Project Spirit Equine Rescue & Rehab reserves the right to refuse adoption of any large animal (Horse/Mule/Donkey/Llama) to a ny adopter if we feel that the adopter and large animal is not a good match. The adopted large animal must have proper care, provided adequate shelter, feed of sufficient quantity and quality to maintain normal growth and maintenance, and an unlimited supply of drinkable water. The animal is required to remain in good health and given medical attention when needed.
It is the adopter’s responsibility to see that worming and vaccinations be completed on a regular basis. The hooves must be trimmed on a regular basis and additional hoof care should be provided as needed.
The adopter must never place the animal with an abusive trainer. The adopter shall make sure that all contact with humans and other animals shall be free from abuse and neglect. The adopter certifies that he / she has no prior animal convictions of inhumane treatment or abuse.
Adopter agrees to allow the Project Spirit to monitor the well-being of the adopted animal and if found that the animal is not being cared for properly, that Project Spirit has the right to repossess the large animal at the time of inspection. The adopter agrees to pay all recovering costs and attorney fees, if such action should occur.
The Adopter agrees not to sell, trade, give away, auction, lease or use for any commercial purpose other than showing for a period of 2 years. If the adopter is unable to care for the large animal within this time period for any reason, it must be returned to the Project Spirit Equine Rescue & Rehab. Title will be given to the adopted owner in good standing at the end of the 2 year period. However, if the animal is traded, sold or given away, the animals new owner & location should be provided to Project Spirit Equine Rescue & Rehab.
