Project Overview – Phase One
The Maritime Industry Reference Committee (IRC) in coordination with Australian Industry Standards (AIS) is currently undertaking Phase One of the MAR Maritime Training Package Project to update the following near coastal qualifications:
- MAR10413 Certificate I in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 2 Near Coastal)
- MAR20313 Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal)
- MAR31013 Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Master Inland Waters)
- MAR30913 Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Master up to 24 metres Near Coastal)
- MAR20413 Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 Near Coastal)
- MAR30813 Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 Near Coastal)
The qualifications and associated units of competency, will be updated to better incorporate the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s (AMSA) certification requirements. This will be achieved by improving assessment requirements, increasing assessment rigour and clarity and specifying minimum resources for assessment.
Roadshow
We will be holding the National Maritime Roadshow from 20th March – 31st March 2017 across Australia. This is your opportunity to provide input into the MAR Maritime Training Package.
