Project for Library Research:

Complete each of the following tasks.

TASK 1: Enter your observations as to how ERIC from CSA and EBSCOHost compare in terms of ease of use. Which one do you prefer after you initial contact?

Task 2: Using either EBSCOHost or ERIC from CSA, find 3 articles from your area of credentialing focus: i.e., history, English, science, math, physical education, special education, music, etc.

Enter the counts for your search when you have narrowed your parameters enough to be able to reasonably consider the articles you have found.

TASK 3: Highlight, copy, and paste the complete abstract from each of three articles you found in your subject area into the table below.

TASK 4: Choose on of the articles you have selected and use the Find Text or FULL TEXT options to download the article. Save the article to your desktop Library folder.

· Some articles will open as HTML or text files.

· Both of these types can be saved to your desktop.

WARNING:

· Some articles can only be acquired through Inter-Library loan, or may be in hard copy in CSUN’s library.

· Using the online databases requires patience and practice.

· SOME ARTICLES listed as available on line are not available.

· You will discover that many of the articles you wish to view are not available online.

· For this exercise, find another suitable article if your first or second choices are not available.
