Overview:

[client name] is a manufacturer and retail seller of [product]. The [product]is sold worldwide, with the market predominately in the US, England, and Europe. Some inroads have been made into the Asian market.

A new domain name will be registered shortly for the client. The host will be a local hosting company.

We require only the design [look] of the site completed; a mockup of the site flow is detailed below.

Current site:

[client name] has a current site that is extremely poor. While it generates a reasonable number of visitors and email enquiries, the enquiries tend to be of a general nature, and take up a lot of time without generating sales.

Objectives of new website:

  • Position [client name] as technologically advanced and innovative
  • Aid marketing efforts to an international audience
  • Assist ongoing marketing efforts
  • Generate qualified sales leads
  • Increase ease of contact for prospects and clients
  • Aid branding of [client name]
  • Provide an easy experience for site visitors
  • Provide visitors with easily accessible (and useful) information and tools
  • Reduce overheads for contact with the target market
  • Simple to update by staff with limited computer skills

Target market:

[target audience] across the globe. It is very much a niche market and we need to assist the client in communicating a competitive advantage. This perceived advantage could be the business’s use of the latest technologies, reputation, and quality work practices.

Influences on buying from the company:

  • Quality
  • Reputation
  • Price

Product:

[product name and details]

Key features of the site:

Homepage must completely load within 12 seconds.

No Flash. No static frames.

Top level buttons to be at top of page (i.e. example).

Top level buttons to highlight to let visitor know what page they are on.

Navigation buttons for each page to be text links (similar to the example site).

With the above design concept, we require only each top-level page to be developed once, i.e. the info page. If designed as above, we can replicate the page ourselves and place the content accordingly.

The homepage design with the top-level buttons (including Home) is to be a constant across the site.

Link color change rollovers.

Two forms:

  • One on Contact Us page
  • One for newsletter subscription

Benefits of the product:

Speed is the number one criterion. A [product name] has to fit appropriate criteria to be allowed to race and the critical factor here is [product name].

Tone of communication:

Professional and innovative with an excellent reputation. Trustworthy and reliable would be the other big two.

Timeframe:

2 weeks to complete the look of the site.

Budget:

Your quote, please.

Any research:

None completed by client.
