Project: PDE School Performance Profile Shareholders Input
Description:The CIU # 10 will host a PDE’s SPP Stakeholders Feedback Session on December 9, 2015 at 9:00-10:30 AM. PDE has stated, “The new administration is committed to evaluating schools utilizing comprehensive measures that holistically address metrics beyond standardized assessments administered once a year … In order to more fairly recognize the efforts of our LEAs across the Commonwealth, the administration is seeking input from diverse stakeholders on how the SPP might more equitably address multiple variables that contribute to the student achievement. To that end, PDE is seeking input…” from superintendents, district level administrators, principals, teachers, higher education, education unions, legislators and workforce representatives.
I will work with superintendents and CIU # 10 staff to identify these stakeholders and invite them to the December 9 Session.

Project: Executive Director Contract Reminder
Description:The current CIU # 10 Executive Director Employment Contract expires April 6, 2016. The Contracts states that a Board decision to not renew the contract must be given to the Executive Director by November 3, 2015.

Project: Superintendents Conference
Description: The first annual CIU # 10-IU 8 Superintendents Conference was completed October 2 with 10 CIU # 10 and 14 IU 8 superintendents participating. This year’s theme was “School Cannot Do It Alone”.

Project:National History Day Grant – Facilities Contract
Description:CIU #10 is coordinating the Region 5 National History Day Competition. A contract with Lock Haven University for facility use is on the agenda for approval. Costs for this expenditure are covered by the PDE National History Day Grant in the amount of $3,080.00.

GOAL 1.
Establish a Central Intermediate Unit # 10 Charter School Leadership Council composed of the executive director and the regional charter school CEOs. The Council will meet regularly to collaborate in service to charter schools’ staffs and students.
GOAL 2.
Establish a Central Intermediate Unit # 10 system dedicated to the individualization of services to the IU’s twelve school districts.
