Purpose of the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Programme Officer toprovide valuable input into the research, design and implementation of Selfless’ current and future social innovation programmes. The ideal candidate will be willing to kick start a career in project leadership by taking on responsibility and by learning and applying a range of new skills to tackle important challenges in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

Identifying, building and maintaining relationships with strategic partners

  • Identify and build relationships with development agencies, policy and research institutions that are critical to Selfless delivering its objectives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key contacts in partner organisations
  • Represent Selfless within relevant networks and at events
  • Develop ideas and projects alongside the Selfless team
  • Seek new income streams through grant applications and product development.

Contributing to project planning and management

  • Develop timelines for project delivery to meet agreed outcomes
  • Oversee implementation of Selfless’ social innovation projects in the UK and Bangladesh

Monitoring and evaluation and reporting on programmes

  • Working with Selfless team members and partner organisations to develop monitoring and evaluation tools
  • Coordinating monitoring and evaluation activities
  • Proofreading and co-writing project reports

Policy analysis and development

  • Monitor relevant policy across health and international development.
  • Contribute to strategic planning with the Selfless team

Qualifications:
2:1 or above in any degree subject / x
Skills and Experience:
Familiarity with and/or interest in the health sector, international development and related policy issues. / x
Very strong communication skills – written and verbal – including public speaking, presentation delivery, and report writing (desirable). / x
Previous work experience in any sector (Including internships, placements, casual and voluntary work etc). / x
Minimum intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite / x
University society/student union experience / x
Involvement in campaigns, volunteering, charity work and social enterprise / x
Knowledge/experience of monitoring and evaluation / social research techniques. / x
Knowledge/experience of communications / PR / x
